Mya First Babysitter...

Well it is not a first babysitter but close. My mom had watched Mya many times but she has many experience with babies and she is comfortable with Mya and I am more comfortable leaving her with my mom. It is my first time I let Shamere, my soon-to-be-sweet 16 niece, watch Mya while Mike and I went out for dinner to celebrate our 3 years anniversary. I didn't want to worried so much and I promised my self not to look at my cell phone to see if I missed any phone calls from Shamere every 10 minutes. I trust Shamere at some things but I was just afraid Shamere did not know what to do with Mya if somethings happens.

Mike and I decided to make a traditional every year that we will celebrate our anniversary at Turf Valley Resort where we got married at. They have a nice restaurant, Alexandra's, and a delicious crab cakes! I made the reservation at 6:30 P.M. Mike had a late conference today and didn't get home till it was time to leave. So he didn't have time to change to a nicer clothes and I decided to dress semi-casual. There was a little bit of traffic but it was moving well. We got there 15 minutes late. We sat down next to the window where you can see the water foundation shooting up in the air. It's beautiful. It is more beautiful in the spring and summer time with the flowers out. I asked Mike if he regret that we got married in March. He said no. I sort of regret it because it would be more beautiful for the pictures. But then I realized there was a reason why we got married on St. Patrick's Day. I couldn't figured out when I wanted to get married and I wanted something unique. I asked Mike what was his favorite number and he said "3" and mine was 17 and it happened to be on a Saturday. I knew it was meant to be. I did not realized it was St. Patrick's Day and when people asked me if I am going to have a green beer at the wedding. I was clueless until my mom suggested we have St. Patrick theme for the reception. And then that is when I realized.

I was telling Mike that I was kinda of upset that we didn't have the perfect weather like today on our wedding day. 3 years ago, during the week of our wedding date, the weather has been nice and warm until on our rehearsal night, we were hit by a snow storm. My husband was late for our rehearsal dinner! He had to pick his family up from Philadelphia and had to drive through the snow storm and took him longer than usually. He couldn't see while he was driving. And one of my bridesmaid's, Sarah, car got stuck in the ditch on the way to the rehearsal. Nothing major happened but thank god. I was upset about the snow storm because many guest's flight got canceled and I was afraid no one was going to show up. Most of the guests found a different way to make to my wedding. Some drove through the night from Illinois and some caught a morning flight on the day of. I was pleased about it.

Mike and I had Maryland crab dip for appetizer and it was so yummy. While we were eating our crab dip, I was looking around and realized Mrs. Kelly was at a different table, across the room. I asked Mike if that was Sean's mom and he wasn't sure. I stood up and walked over and said "hi" to her. She was surprised to see me and I asked her if she remember she was here 3 years ago for our wedding? She forgot and I told her that Mike and I made a traditional to come to Alexnadra's for our anniversary. I walked back to our table and our dinner had came. I had crab cake with whipped potatoes. Mike had prime rib with whipped potatoes. The whipped potatoes was so salty and we did not finished it. In the middle of our dinner, I realized our waitress forgot our salad. I knew I was going to be hungry because I haven't eaten since early lunch. So he brought our salad and we finished it. Mike and I talked about many things, marriage, jobs, house, money, Mya, and the next baby.

We ordered deserts. I had warm apple pie with ice cream on the top of the pie and Mike had chocolate cake with raspberry in the middle which was delicious. As soon as we finish our deserts, I wanted to check my cell phone to see if Shamere called. When I looked at my phone, I had one missed phone call and it was from Shamere. My eyes open widely and I was nervous. I called Shamere right away and as the phone was ringing, my heart was pounding really hard. Shamere answered and I asked what was wrong. She just had a question if she was supposed to feed Mya more after I told her to give her medicine at 7. I told her if she is crying then yes. I did not think she would be hungry until I get back from dinner because I just fed her right before I left to go to dinner. I nervously asked if everything else is okay? She said "yea." And I told Shamere before I hanged up with her that we were be leaving shortly.

When we got home, Shamere was on my bed holding Mya. Shamere looked tired and Mya looked like she can't-breathe-full. Mike and I was happy not hearing Mya screaming as we walked in the house because that was one of things we were worried about. So everything went well than I expected and I am happy about it. Shamere told me she sort of forgot how to changed the diaper because it been a while. But she did it anyway. And I will let Shamere watch Mya again if she wants to.
